Denim & Monograms

Classic, preppy looks are my go-to when i don't have the energy to do something more fashion-forward, and there's nothing more classic than a button down and jeans. I picked a crisp white J.Crew button down with a relaxed pair of faded denim to offset the stiffness, and piled on my favorite J.Crew necklace for a little interest.

All Tied Up

Morning, Lovelies! I'm finally settled into NYC and my photo-backdrop options have significantly improved. (thank you adorable brownstones!) Today I wanted to try out a trend that I've been seeing around a few blogs that takes a regular button down, and pulls it off the shoulder. After trying out a few different tops, the key is definitely to pick a softer, more relaxed material (stiffer ones will make weird peaks) so I chose this relaxed chambray button down

Beauty Haul

Morning, Lovelies! I've done quite a bit of shopping lately and I thought I would give y'all a haul post today on the beauty items that have found their way into my collection lately! I'll report back most likely in my August Favorites on which ones we're outstanding, and I'm excited to try the majority of these while on vacation this week in Cancun, Mexico (don't worry, there will be one vlog at least, maybe two!) Tell me below any of these that you've tried, and your thoughts! Or If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them!

Blue Crew

Two of my favorite things when it comes to summer style: vivid hues and ladylike silhouettes. Summer is just the perfect time to run around it a poplin midi skirt, or in this case, dress! As soon as this vibrant blue number came in at J.Crew, I knew I had to have it. It's ultra-feminine and attention-grabbing, and I plan on trying to make it work for fall/winter too.

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

I've been such a skincare fanatic lately, so after hearing over and over and over again about how amazing the Pixi Glow Tonic is, I broke and finally ran to Target for a bottle. I wasn't so sure in the beginning that it would work as well for me, since I have dry, yet blemish-prone skin, and most of the reviews we're by people with oily skin, but I've become a believer!

Highs in the Hundreds

With Texas temps hitting highs in the hundreds, it's a constant battle not to wear shorts and a loose fitting tee. To get around this, I opted for a loose orange tank (which is actually a dress tucked in, but shhhhh... see it HERE) and pulled on my FAVORITE pants, a pair of black, wide-leg culottes from Zara. They feel like pajama pants, but somehow end up looking chic with a pop of color and a pair of heels.

July Favorites

Morning Lovelies! Sorry for this super late July Favorites! I took a little week-long break from blogging to just relax, but now I'm back and ready to roll! There have been so many exciting things that I've been using this month, and I CAN'T WAIT to share them!!

Good Morning, Lovelies! I've been really happy lately with the skincare routine that I've built, and since I've gotten a few questions about what I've been using, I thought it would be fun to grab my best friend Lauren and go through our skincare routines for you! I veer more on the dry side, while Lauren tends to be more oily, so no matter what your skin type, we've got a few suggestions!

Poppy

One of the best parts of working retail is when an amazing sale goes up out-of-the-blue, and you're able to snatch up the best bits before anyone else for crazy cheap! I scooped these J.Crew Gemma flats up for about $13, and I'm in love! They add such a gorgeous pop of color to any outfit, and match my Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise perfectly!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor Swatch Video + Review

There has been so much buzz about these little drugstore lippies that I had to see what all the hype was about. While running into walgreens (for one thing, and walking out with 7, as per usual) I spotted a display of these and grabbed two shades, Addiction and Devotion. After testing (and falling in love with) those two, I ran to ULTA for four more, picking more adventurous shades this time, and I was hooked

WhoWhatWear Monochrome

When I first heard that WhoWhatWear was releasing a clothing line with Target, I was ecstatic! The original line sold out so quickly, and they are continuing to roll out gorgeous and chic pieces that are crazy affordable! I popped into Target a few weeks ago and spotted this bell-sleeve top in both black and white, and fell instantly in love! (and it's only $25!!) The sleeves are so fun, I love wearing it!

CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation

I tested several high-end foundations before deciding on the CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. I had pretty much made up my mind when my mother complimented me on "my skin" almost every single time I wore it! It has a medium, but bulidable coverage, and sits a bit middle-of-the-road in terms of finish. It's not quite matte, but not quite dewy either. You can definitely play up either finish depending on what primer you use under it (I recommend the BECCA Backlight Primer for a glowy/dewy finish, and Benefit Porefessional for matte). An added bonus particularly for fair girls, is it's SPF 25 (woot!) to keep those sun-rays off skin every single day.
