How to Dress Like a Paris Fashion Week Girl

How to Dress Like a Paris Fashion Week Girl

Twice a year, the world’s most fashionable people flock to Paris for Fashion Week, all dressed to the nines in the latest trends. But Parisian women, long regarded as the most stylish of them all, still keep a few styling rules which keep them looking chic from dawn till dusk. If you want to dress like the effortlessly chic Parisienne, here are a few guidelines:

Brooklyn Haze

Brooklyn Haze

Good morning, lovelies! Long-time-no-see! I've been swamped between homework and work these past two weeks, but I should be back to my normal blogging schedule soon. However, I did manage to pop down to Brooklyn Heights during a crisp foggy morning, and after shooting with David, hung out for a bit and sipped coffee while reading and people-watching, with a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline (aka my ideal morning).

Highs in the Hundreds

Highs in the Hundreds

With Texas temps hitting highs in the hundreds, it's a constant battle not to wear shorts and a loose fitting tee. To get around this, I opted for a loose orange tank (which is actually a dress tucked in, but shhhhh... see it HERE) and pulled on my FAVORITE pants, a pair of black, wide-leg culottes from Zara. They feel like pajama pants, but somehow end up looking chic with a pop of color and a pair of heels.

Yellow & Navy

Yellow & Navy

Good morning, Lovelies! Today I thought I would break out my favorite color combo, yellow and navy! I nabbed these gorgeous J.Crew earrings a few weeks ago when someone else returned them (just my luck!) and I love how they add a fun pop of color to any outfit! This Zara dress is a bit shorter than I usually wear, but the collared top balances it out a bit, and looks so cute paired with these J.Crew Factory Addie loafers! Once again, I'm wearing the soft matte lip cream from NYX in the shade Cannes (LOVE this shade!)

Fringe, Stripes, & Chokers

Fringe, Stripes, & Chokers

Good Morning, Lovelies! Sorry for this post being a day late, but I'm currently in Arkansas for a wedding! (Be sure to look out for a vlog from this weekend, and pictures on Instagram!!)

Anyway, I was with my mom in White House Black Market when I spotted these 70's style striped pants on the sale rack and couldn't resist! The vertical stripes make legs look miles long (though the heels help), and I couldn't resist pairing it with my beloved Tim Ryan jacket! This jacket makes any outfit into a statement, even a plain T shirt and jeans (Which I did HERE!)

Ebony & Denim

Ebony & Denim

Mornin' Lovelies! Today I felt like dressing-up a pair of casual jeans with some classic black pumps. Heels are the easiest way to make any outfit a bit more chic, and if you invest in a good pair with a manageable heel height, they are so much more comfortable! I added an easy and classy jeweled button down from J.Crew, and these delicate Gorjana earrings that came in my Rocksbox!

Chilly

Chilly

we've had a bit of a cold front in the city, and I was able to give this fur vest one last outing before spring/summer! I stuck to classic New York black, but added a little spring flair with this gorgeous orange lipstick by Kat Von D! I highly recommend these, they are amazing!

May Wishlist

May wishlist - Southern New Yorker - Tarte, J.Crew, Mark & Graham, sandlas, espadrilles, waterproof makeup, spring, summer, beach, blazers,

This next month is going to be insane! With finals, a wedding, moving home, starting my summer job, and settling back in, I'm excited to get going! Of course, I'll be hitting the beach (hopefully a lot) this summer, so sandals, a cute beach hat, and tote are a must! (Check out last months wishlist for swimsuits!) Plus, with J.Crew releasing so many gorgeous styles for Spring / Summer, I just have to grab a few! There goes my paycheck!

Sandals & Espadrilles

Time to paint those toes, (might I suggest Essie's Tarte Deco?) and strap on something pretty! These jeweled sandals from J.Crew Factory and Espadrilles from Nordstrom are perfect for your spring and summer wardrobe!

Anything Mark & Graham

I may have left the south, but my love of monogramming will never die. Mark & Graham has a huge assortment of bags, apparel, accessories, and more that you can custom monogram to your hearts content! This hunter green plaid tote and scarf are too cute! A little wintery, yes, but they have tons of summertime items just waiting for that perfect circle script!

Everything J.Crew

My love of J.Crew is absolutely no secret. Half of the time, I look like a walking advertisement for them. But this season, they've nailed the spring wardrobe. I mean, NAILED it. On my wish list: Teddie Pants in every color and pattern, an Uptown Tote, that gorgeous yellow off-the-shoulder top, and every shoe and accessory offered. (That may be overdoing it a little....or maybe not)

Tarte Summer Makeup

Tarte Lights camera splashes waterproof mascara
Tarte waterproof cheek stain

Tarte has long been known for amazing, natural, waterproof makeup, and the release of their Rainforest of the Sea collection could not have come at a better time! Everything is geared towards that easy, flawless summer look that will keep you fresh and dewy without melting off your face in the heat or water!

What's on your wishlist this month?

xoxo,

Audra

Brooklyn Trench

Brooklyn Trench

As you read this, I'm currently relaxing at home in Texas! I'm so thankful to get to come home for the weekend, relax a bit, and go to my close friend's bridal shower! I shot this look last Saturday in DUMBO, Brooklyn at this gorgeous colorful wall we found! I love this classic but casual look, it's easy, comfortable, and chic!

The Blues

The Blues

Today I decided to pair these (amazing) J.Crew Ryder pants with a classic chambray button down, J.Crew Factory Cora tassel loafers, a Kendra Scott Rayne necklace, and Sophie Harper pave ring (both of which came in my Rocksbox! You can get a month free with my code! Read the post HERE!) But what I was MOST excited for, was to take my new Loeffler Randall Saffiano Rider bag out for it's first spin! I happened upon it while scouring a Rent The Runway sample sale, and I couldn't leave without it! It was between that and a Kate Spade dress. Believe me, the decision was almost impossible.

Suite Life - Mary Katrantzou, Ileana Makri, David Koma & Lynn Ban

This week at Suite 1521 was very hectic, but we had some AMAZING designers showing! One of my all-time favorites, Mary Katrantzou, was here this week, as well as Ileana Makri, a beautiful jewelry designer, David Koma, whose a little too sexy for my taste, but still very pretty, and Lynn Ban, a very gothic/edgy/amazing jewelry designer!
