Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil

Morning, Lovelies! Today's post is all about a skincare product that I have relied on heavily over the past few weeks, and I can honestly say it's saved my skin! You may have noticed that I've been changing scenery quite often (flying off to Cancun, back to Texas, then moving back to New York) and all that flying and changing climates can really take a toll on your skin, especially if you already have dry skin, like mine, to begin with.

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

Pixi Glow Tonic Review

I've been such a skincare fanatic lately, so after hearing over and over and over again about how amazing the Pixi Glow Tonic is, I broke and finally ran to Target for a bottle. I wasn't so sure in the beginning that it would work as well for me, since I have dry, yet blemish-prone skin, and most of the reviews we're by people with oily skin, but I've become a believer!

June Wishlist

June Wishlist - Southern New Yorker

This month, I'm getting excited for light, glowy makeup, beachy hair, and bright, fun, summer clothing!

Everything from J.Crew, naturally.

Pale blues, stripes gingham, tassels, & bows! J.Crew's spring/summer line is the perfect mix of classic and trendy! My top favorites? This chambray shirt with Ryder pants, gingham slingback flats, and robins-egg-blue beaded tassel earrings. And if that's not enough, this gingham clutch adds the final punch!

Block Heeled Sandals

The perfect heel, whether short or tall, the block heel provides WAY more support than a spike, while being more chic than a wedge. Steve Madden makes an amazing assortment for any need (and in tons of colors!) My favorites are definitely the Irenee and Rizzaa sandals!

Super Glowy Makeup

Lately, my makeup has been all about that glow-factor. Pairing down on the foundation coverage and amping up that lit-from-within, healthy glow! Becca Backlight Primer is a cult-product and I'm dying to get my hands on this best seller! Right behind that, is two Hourglass bits, their new luminizing primer, and another cult-favorite, the ambient lighting powders! But of course, that natural, dewy glow can't happen without taking care of your skin, so......

Pixi Products

Pixi's raved-about Glow Tonic has catapulted it to stardom, but hype is building around a few of their other products as well! I'm particularly interested in their undereye brightener and glow mist!

Kiehl's Skincare

And finally, a far underrated brand that should be on everyone's bathroom counter, Kiehl's. I recieved a sample of their Daily Reviving Concentrate in my Birchbox this past month, and oh sweet mama, it's a miracle in a bottle. (bold claim, I know) Not only has my acne almost vanished, but the overall texture and brightness of my skin is noticeably much better! To the point where I have started occasionally going without any makeup on my skin! (which has not happened since the eighth grade) After seeing this miracle in action, I'm dying to pick up the cleanser, eye treatment, and whatever else I can get my hands on!

xoxo,

Audra

The Skincare Edit

The Skincare Edit

Good morning, Lovelies! Today I thought I would give a little skincare update since its been almost a year since my last one! Most products have changed, but a few tried-and-true favorites remain in my arsenal. A little glimpse into my skin type: I can be dry, normal, or oily depending on the day or time of year, but I always moisturize fairly heavily and use tons of sunscreen. (#PaleGirlProbz)

April Wishlist

April Wishlist

Spring is in full swing! Or at least that's what I tell myself as I look at the rainy, 37 degree weather outside my window. Well, at least until it clears up, I can dream of swimsuits, beaches, glowy skin, and spring florals! This month's favorites centers around just that!

January Favorites

Grace Coddington Memoir, Stella and Dot Eva Ear jacket, Benefit tinted lash primer, LUSH cosmetics cup o' coffee facial mask and scrub, anastasia beverly hills contour palette, kopari sheer coconut oil

It was so hard to narrow down just a few favorites for this month! Between all the amazing gifts I received for Christmas, and new products I've been trying out, it was a very difficult decision! So here's a bit of beauty, an amazing book, and just a touch of fashion that I've loved this month!

Benefit tinted lash primer, LUSH cosmetics cup o' coffee facial mask and scrub, kopari sheer coconut oil

We'll start off with the bulk of the beauty. I've been all about going back to natural products lately. The Kopari Sheer Coconut oil is amazing as a makeup remover, moisturizer, nail oil, and split-end saver. Next up is the LUSH Cosmetics Cup o' Coffee facial scrub and mask. This little powerhouse of caffeinated-goodness perks up your skin, (bye bye dark circles) and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft! Finally, the Benefit Tinted Lash Primer has totally changed my lash game! I use that as a base coat under the L'Oreal Million Lashes mascara, or alone if it's a natural makeup day.

Grace Coddington Memoir, anastasia beverly hills contour palette

Two awesome things I got for Christmas made the final cut. My grandmother gave me a few books, and one of them was Grace Coddington's Memoir. I'm only about half way through it, but so far its full of funny and insightful stories about her childhood and early career. Such a good read. Next up, the Anastasia Contour Palette in light to medium. I was super skeptical of a contour palette because my skin is so fair, put this one is very easy to blend, and not too dark!

Stella and Dot eva ear jacket

Finally, we have these little gems, the Eva Ear Jacket from Stella and Dot! My sister gave them to me for Christmas, and I'm absolutely obsessed with them! The set comes with two pairs of studs and one jacket back, so you can wear the studs alone or either one with the jacket. Too cute!! Check them out in my Speckled Grey and Bright Poppy style posts.

De-stress with the Origins Charcoal Mask

One of my favorite things to do during a stressful school week, is to take an hour or two, step away from the mountains of essays and projects, and take time to relax. During that time, I like to take off my makeup, put on a mask, and either read a book or paint my nails (Essie's Leggy Legend and Geranium are my current favorites).

Recently, I've been loving the Origins Clear Improvements Charcoal Mask. It has charcoal which draws out deep impurities, white china clay to absorbs environmental toxins, and lecithin which dissolves all the impurities.

I use this about once a week, after I've cleansed my face, and before I moisturize. It definitely has helped to clean out the New York City "gunk" from the air, and keep my acne under control! Plus, it's a great way to de-stress!
