February Favorites

February Favorites

This month was full of rediscoveries and a few new favorites. February was all about pretty neutrals and muted colors to transition from winter to spring! First up, these gorgeous shades from Essie! I've been loving rotating and mixing these three for an understated but fresh mani. Imported Bubbly (left) has a beautiful pearl-effect on the nail, and looks amazing paired with Mochachino (right) which is a pretty light brown with tiny light-reflecting particles in it. Sugar Daddy (center) is the ultimate natural color. It adds just a slight polished pink to the nail, and pulls together whatever look you're wearing without drawing too much attention.

Tartelette 2 In Bloom Palette Review

Tartelette 2 In Bloom Palette Review

Is there anything better than a new eyeshadow palette? (probably, but it's definitely up there!) One thing I got for my birthday was this Tartelette 2 In Bloom Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette, and I'm in love! It comes with 12 gorgeous shades that will work for any skin tone.

Just the overall palette itself is gorgeous. It's made of a sturdy-weight gold metal and has a huge mirror which is amazing for travel! The shadows themselves are rich, pigmented, and buttery! I haven't had too much fallout while applying, and all of the colors are beautiful!

Currently Craving: February

This month is February, and you know what that means, Valentine's Day! (and my birthday, woohoo!) Here's a list of some thing's I've had my eye on (most of which aren't "traditional" valentine's gifts, but who wants another heart shaped necklace and a box of mystery chocolate?)

J.Crew Ryder Pants

I've been eyeing this gorgeous, classic pants for awhile, and after trying them on in-store, I can attest that they are sleek, comfortable, and so cute! Definitely craving them in both black and navy, but they carry olive green and brown as well!

Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette

Tarte is known for it's fantastic pressed-powder products made with amazonian clay (Their clay blushes are my all-time favorites!) and this new edition to their line is full of gorgeous eyeshadow shades that are buttery, pigmented, and such beautiful shades. I swatched them in a Sephora a few weeks ago and I've been dreaming of it ever since!

J.Crew Factory Bucket Bag

Bucket bags are so functional and trendy, and this brown leather one from J.Crew Factory is simple and chic. It will work with anything from leggings and an oversized sweater, to a cute dress and heels.

Kate Spade Travel Mugs

For your favorite coffee lover, (whether this be yourself or someone else) the Kate Spade travel mugs are too cute to pass up and will brighten up anyone's morning! They come in a ton of adorable colors and patterns, but I'm especially in love with that gold stripe!

Kiel James Patrick Pearl Bracelet

This classic glass pearl bracelet is stunningly simple, and looks beautiful worn alone or in a stack of your other favorites. The anchors come in both silver and gold, and the ribbon ties come in many different colors. They're all handmade in Rhode Island, and KJP also has apparel, tons more jewelry, hats, and shoes!

August Favorites

L'Oreal La Palette Nude 1, Essie Gel top coat, Essie pearl polish in Imported Bubbly, LAQA cheek and lip balm, Maybelline New York under eye brightening concealer, and L'Oreal Lumi highlighter in Ice - Southern New Yorker - August Favorites

I'm always amazed every month when I realize how much time has past! I feel like I wrote my July Favorites yesterday!

August has been the month of illuminating skin, fun nails, and eye shadow palettes (I bought two in one month, that's a lot for me!)

1. L'Oreal Paris La Palette Nude 1

I picked this one up at the beginning of August and have loved it ever since!! There's a great mix of matte and shimmer shadows, as well as several different choices for highlight-midtone-contour. I would call this one a pretty good drugstore dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (which is my holy grail).

2. Essie Gel Setter Top Coat

Best. Top. Coat. Ever. I've had a long standing addiction to Essie polishes but when It came to base/top coats, I was strictly a Sally Hansen girl. That was up until I grabbed this baby off the drugstore shelf (and never looked back!)

3. LAQA & Co. Cheeky Lip in Humble Brag

I have to admit, I was never a huge fan of cream or stick blushes until I got this little bit in my Birchbox! The color is gorgeous, it's very blendable as a blush, and SO pretty on the lips! Birchbox has a trio of these in a cute little clutch that I'm dying to pick up!

4. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Illuminator in Ice

After a bit of resistance, I decided to jump on the highlight bandwagon. (and boy, am I so glad I did!) I've mixed it with my foundation for a gorgeous glow, and patted it on the very top of my cheekbones for a little added radiance.

5. Essie Imported Bubbly

HELLO NEW FAVORITE. I saw this pearly pink polish on the shelf and fell in love. It's almost as subtle as a nude, but just that little bit more interesting! I've worn it for about three weeks straight! (sorry, not sorry)

6. Maybelline Dark Circle Concealer

I picked this one up because I had heard several other bloggers raving about it, and I have to say, it lived up to the hype! My only issue is that the lightest color offered is still a tiny bit too dark for me #palegirlprobs

LORAC Skinny Palette - Black

LORAC Skinny Palette - Black

One of the things I picked up from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was this lovely LORAC Skinny Palette in Black. The colors are highly pigmented, except for the lightest shade, which matches my skin tone exactly (and makes it very hard to see). I've only started playing around with the colors, but the first, third, and fourth shadows make a lovely matte contoured eye
