8 Things I Want To Do In 2018
We're only 4 days in to 2018, but so far, it's been pretty great! I've never been one to make hard-and-fast New Years Resolutions, but this year I thought I'd take a stab at a few goals, or just little things I want to do in 2018. I'll be printing these out in pretty fonts and putting them above my desk in my new Brooklyn apartment (don't worry, I'll post pictures once it's finished!) so that I can be constantly reminded of them!
Make time for real relationships | Being a blogger, I love social media, and I'm always on my phone. But I want to be certain to make time to be with friends and family, in person, with zero distractions. Focus on building meaningful relationships, and not through a computer screen.
Work hard, but don't burn out | I'm running full force into 2018 with an internship 3 days a week, a retail job for extra cash, and an 18 credit-hour school schedule (am I insane? probably). My goal is to recognize how much I can handle, and speak up if it gets to be too much. Send lots of prayers this semester!
Make a budget, and stick to it | If I'm honest, I am TERRIBLE with money. I see $100 in my bank account and think "Yes! time to buy shoes!". So this year I want to make it a priority to really track my spending and stick with a budget!
Get moving! | Again, being honest, I don't exercise. Like, ever. But in 2018 I made a pact with a friend that we would go running once a week (it's not much, but it's a start!) and I'm making a pact with myself to do yoga at least twice a week. Gotta start somewhere!
Grow my blog | I've spent a lot of time the past few days setting achievable blog goals for 2018. The specifics are a little personal, but in general, I want to focus on making all of my content quality a bit better, really engage with my readers in a personal and authentic way, and work smarter to promote my blog, not harder!
Take a trip | During study abroad, I traveled all over Europe every single weekend (and it was amazing!) but I have subsequently drained my savings account, and also travel in the US is surprisingly more expensive! But, One of my goals for the year is to save up and take a trip to at least one US city I've never been to before like Boston or Charleston!
Let go of negatives | This is kind of two-fold in that I want to forgive and forget any old grudges or bad feelings from the past, and go into 2018 with a positive attitude, as well as make sure I'm cutting out anyone or anything that brings me down, and make sure I surround myself with people, activities, and things that lift me up and make me a better, more positive person!
Stop and smell the roses | a little cliche, but in a city and an industry where everything is insanely fast-paced, I want to try and remember to take little moments to apreciate everything I've done so far, and all the wonderful people, opportunities, and things I have in my life!
Here's to a great 2018!
