Brooklyn Haze

Brooklyn Haze

Good morning, lovelies! Long-time-no-see! I've been swamped between homework and work these past two weeks, but I should be back to my normal blogging schedule soon. However, I did manage to pop down to Brooklyn Heights during a crisp foggy morning, and after shooting with David, hung out for a bit and sipped coffee while reading and people-watching, with a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline (aka my ideal morning).

Blue Crew

Blue Crew

Two of my favorite things when it comes to summer style: vivid hues and ladylike silhouettes. Summer is just the perfect time to run around it a poplin midi skirt, or in this case, dress! As soon as this vibrant blue number came in at J.Crew, I knew I had to have it. It's ultra-feminine and attention-grabbing, and I plan on trying to make it work for fall/winter too.

One of the best parts of working retail is when an amazing sale goes up out-of-the-blue, and you're able to snatch up the best bits before anyone else for crazy cheap! I scooped these J.Crew Gemma flats up for about $13, and I'm in love! They add such a gorgeous pop of color to any outfit, and match my Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise perfectly!

Yellow & Navy

Yellow & Navy

Good morning, Lovelies! Today I thought I would break out my favorite color combo, yellow and navy! I nabbed these gorgeous J.Crew earrings a few weeks ago when someone else returned them (just my luck!) and I love how they add a fun pop of color to any outfit! This Zara dress is a bit shorter than I usually wear, but the collared top balances it out a bit, and looks so cute paired with these J.Crew Factory Addie loafers! Once again, I'm wearing the soft matte lip cream from NYX in the shade Cannes (LOVE this shade!)

Fleur

Fleur

Doesn't everyone carry around a purse full of flowers? Maybe not, it's a bit impractical, but makes for some very cute photos! I loved the way these spring blooms peeked out of my Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise. To compliment the already ultra-feminine look, I picked out this fun midi skier that I made about a year ago. Midi skirts are so pretty and fun, and fairly easy to sew if you know the basics!

Ebony & Denim

Ebony & Denim

Mornin' Lovelies! Today I felt like dressing-up a pair of casual jeans with some classic black pumps. Heels are the easiest way to make any outfit a bit more chic, and if you invest in a good pair with a manageable heel height, they are so much more comfortable! I added an easy and classy jeweled button down from J.Crew, and these delicate Gorjana earrings that came in my Rocksbox!

June Wishlist

June Wishlist - Southern New Yorker

This month, I'm getting excited for light, glowy makeup, beachy hair, and bright, fun, summer clothing!

Everything from J.Crew, naturally.

Pale blues, stripes gingham, tassels, & bows! J.Crew's spring/summer line is the perfect mix of classic and trendy! My top favorites? This chambray shirt with Ryder pants, gingham slingback flats, and robins-egg-blue beaded tassel earrings. And if that's not enough, this gingham clutch adds the final punch!

Block Heeled Sandals

The perfect heel, whether short or tall, the block heel provides WAY more support than a spike, while being more chic than a wedge. Steve Madden makes an amazing assortment for any need (and in tons of colors!) My favorites are definitely the Irenee and Rizzaa sandals!

Super Glowy Makeup

Lately, my makeup has been all about that glow-factor. Pairing down on the foundation coverage and amping up that lit-from-within, healthy glow! Becca Backlight Primer is a cult-product and I'm dying to get my hands on this best seller! Right behind that, is two Hourglass bits, their new luminizing primer, and another cult-favorite, the ambient lighting powders! But of course, that natural, dewy glow can't happen without taking care of your skin, so......

Pixi Products

Pixi's raved-about Glow Tonic has catapulted it to stardom, but hype is building around a few of their other products as well! I'm particularly interested in their undereye brightener and glow mist!

Kiehl's Skincare

And finally, a far underrated brand that should be on everyone's bathroom counter, Kiehl's. I recieved a sample of their Daily Reviving Concentrate in my Birchbox this past month, and oh sweet mama, it's a miracle in a bottle. (bold claim, I know) Not only has my acne almost vanished, but the overall texture and brightness of my skin is noticeably much better! To the point where I have started occasionally going without any makeup on my skin! (which has not happened since the eighth grade) After seeing this miracle in action, I'm dying to pick up the cleanser, eye treatment, and whatever else I can get my hands on!

xoxo,

Audra

Spring in Seersucker

I've had my eye on these cropped seersucker pants from J.Crew for quite a while now, so when they went on sale, I had to grab them before they sell out! They're light, comfortable, and perfect for spring and summer, especially paired with a chunky sandal and a chambray button down. But what would a preppy outfit be without a statement accessory? Of course, I had to throw on my favorite tortoiseshell necklace with a tiny bit of color to match my orange Kat Von D lipstick.

Orange // Gingham

Orange // Gingham

Good Morning, Lovelies! Don't orange and navy go together beautifully? I was so excited when I found these gorgeous vivid orange Alice & Olivia wide-leg trousers on sale at Bergdorf Goodman in New York last week! I went in with my mother and grandmother just to see the store, and of course walked out with both new makeup and clothing (oops!).

Brooklyn Trench

As you read this, I'm currently relaxing at home in Texas! I'm so thankful to get to come home for the weekend, relax a bit, and go to my close friend's bridal shower! I shot this look last Saturday in DUMBO, Brooklyn at this gorgeous colorful wall we found! I love this classic but casual look, it's easy, comfortable, and chic!

The Blues

The Blues

Today I decided to pair these (amazing) J.Crew Ryder pants with a classic chambray button down, J.Crew Factory Cora tassel loafers, a Kendra Scott Rayne necklace, and Sophie Harper pave ring (both of which came in my Rocksbox! You can get a month free with my code! Read the post HERE!) But what I was MOST excited for, was to take my new Loeffler Randall Saffiano Rider bag out for it's first spin! I happened upon it while scouring a Rent The Runway sample sale, and I couldn't leave without it! It was between that and a Kate Spade dress. Believe me, the decision was almost impossible.
