Foundation is the hardest makeup product to get right. We all want something that is going to look, feel, and wear well even after several hours, and preferably with little to no touch-ups. Put the fear of breakouts on top of that, and you have a real challenge here. I recently started a quest to test as many luxury foundations as I can (giving each one at least a month or more to test) and after CHANEL's Les Beiges Foundation, next up on the list is Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk FoundationRead More
Morning Lovelies! Sorry for this super late July Favorites! I took a little week-long break from blogging to just relax, but now I'm back and ready to roll! There have been so many exciting things that I've been using this month, and I CAN'T WAIT to share them!!Read More
I tested several high-end foundations before deciding on the CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. I had pretty much made up my mind when my mother complimented me on "my skin" almost every single time I wore it! It has a medium, but bulidable coverage, and sits a bit middle-of-the-road in terms of finish. It's not quite matte, but not quite dewy either. You can definitely play up either finish depending on what primer you use under it (I recommend the BECCA Backlight Primer for a glowy/dewy finish, and Benefit Porefessional for matte). An added bonus particularly for fair girls, is it's SPF 25 (woot!) to keep those sun-rays off skin every single day.Read More
This month brought a few new beauty finds, and a few re-discoveries! These are some of the products I've been reaching for every day!
It's no secret that I've had a long-running love affair with L'Oreal's Million Lashes Mascara (One of the best drugstore mascaras, seriously.) but I've just discovered their False Fiber Lashes mascara, and I have to say, it's pretty dang amazing. For full, fluttery lashes, this golden beauty is a winner!!
2. Essie Polish - After School Boy Blazer and Sugar Daddy
You can never have too many Essie polishes. It's simply not possible. This month, I've been loving wearing this sheer pink shade, Sugar Daddy on my nails. It adds a sophisticated polish, but isn't too obvious when it chips (because who really has the time to keep up with a manicure?)
For the toes, I've been all about After School Boy Blazer. It's a dark, dark navy that almost appears black, and it looks too cute!
3. LORAC Skinny Palette in Black
This little gem has been picked up almost every day! I use the second shade all over the lid, fourth for a contour, and then use the darkest brown or black for a liner! It's a perfect travel palette, and has colors for both day and night! Unfortunately, this exact palette was a limited edition, but LORAC has the Matte Pro Palette which is very similar!!
It's getting colder, which means dewy summer skin is no longer here and winter mattes are here to stay! I love Maybelline's FIT Me powder because it provides the perfect finish without looking chalky or cakey.
And for the 600th time, please let me tell you about Clinique's Color Pop Lipsticks! These hyper-pigmented suckers have gorgeous color, insane lasting-power, super hydration, and are my OBSESSION. I currently have Cola Pop (A rich brown-red), Poppy Pop (a bright orangey-red), and Punch Pop (a bold fuchsia). I adore them and plan on collecting every single shade!
I mentioned this foundation in my Drugstore Foundation Comparison and it definitely won out of all the types I tested. It has a nice, medium coverage, it's easy to apply and there's an enormous shade range in three different tones (cool, neutral, and warm) so you're guaranteed to find a perfect match!
What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments below!
As most of you know, I've been in college in NYC for about two months now, and with the college life, comes the college budget! That said, I've had to trade my beloved Dr. Jart BB Cream for a more budget-friendly option. And so the search for a new drugstore foundation began! Here are the 4 that I've been testing out over the past few months:Read More
