5 Trends From NYFW You Can Wear Now

Another season of NYFW has come and gone. It’s always my favorite time of the year, with endless days of getting to see friends who come from all over the world, meeting new and exciting people, and of course, having the privilege to witness the newest trends coming down the catwalks in person.

And while that’s always incredibly inspiring, just as inspiring are the outfits that every other girl pulls out for NYFW. Just waiting in line for shows is when I do some of my best Trend-scouting, and this seasons looks did not disappoint!

So without further adieu, here are 5 Trends I saw both on and off the runways at NYFW, and affordable peices you can shop and wear now!

Ultra-Feminine Colors

Lilac, hot pink, lavender, blush, mauve, every shade of pink and purple could be seen on the streets and on the runways! I guarantee we’ll be seeing lots of purples and pinks popping up everywhere from now on! Try mixing masculine and feminine by wearing a tailored suit in an ultra-feminine color!

Continuing with the ultra-feminine, pearls are here to stay in a big way, but they’ve graduated from barrettes to headbands, details on blouses, to layering your grandmothers strand with a mix of gold necklaces! Start small with a fun hoop earring, or go more daring and pair a pearl-embroidered tulle sock with your favorite kitten heel!

Unexpected Leather

I know, leather, for fall, groundbreaking. But I’m not talking your classic brown leather jacket (though that’s still chic!) Try mixing it up with a leather pleated skirt in a bold color, or an oversized leather top! Play around with this fun texture and maybe even mix it with those pearl accessories for the perfect hard-meets-soft combo.

Whether it’s the Rodarte tulle gloves that made waves, a sheer polka-dot tight, or a chiffon blouse with an oversized bow, sheer fabrics ruled both street and catwalk, and are such a fun and interesting way to mix up a look. Try a black tight like these with a classic black pant and Oxford shoe. The small peek makes the look instantly très chic

They’ve been here for a bit, and are going nowhere fast! Powersuits are one of the easiest ways to look instantly chic, and bonus points if you opt for a bold color or fun pattern! They don’t have to be stuff or corporate at all! Go for a relaxed silhouette and pair with white sneakers and quirky jewelry!

And that’s all! Keep an eye out for my Recap later today of everything I saw, did, and wore! Or you can get it delivered straight to your inbox here!
