I was ecstatic when I opened this Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise on Christmas morning this year, and ever since then, it has become the perfect bag for everyday and for taking to my internship! Today, I thought I would give a little peek inside and tell y'all what's hiding in this little red gem. Watch the video for a full, unedited version (complete with random papers, metrocards, and way too many lip products) or just keep scrolling for my edited version!Read More
I'm always amazed every month when I realize how much time has past! I feel like I wrote my July Favorites yesterday!
August has been the month of illuminating skin, fun nails, and eye shadow palettes (I bought two in one month, that's a lot for me!)
I picked this one up at the beginning of August and have loved it ever since!! There's a great mix of matte and shimmer shadows, as well as several different choices for highlight-midtone-contour. I would call this one a pretty good drugstore dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (which is my holy grail).
Best. Top. Coat. Ever. I've had a long standing addiction to Essie polishes but when It came to base/top coats, I was strictly a Sally Hansen girl. That was up until I grabbed this baby off the drugstore shelf (and never looked back!)
I have to admit, I was never a huge fan of cream or stick blushes until I got this little bit in my Birchbox! The color is gorgeous, it's very blendable as a blush, and SO pretty on the lips! Birchbox has a trio of these in a cute little clutch that I'm dying to pick up!
After a bit of resistance, I decided to jump on the highlight bandwagon. (and boy, am I so glad I did!) I've mixed it with my foundation for a gorgeous glow, and patted it on the very top of my cheekbones for a little added radiance.
HELLO NEW FAVORITE. I saw this pearly pink polish on the shelf and fell in love. It's almost as subtle as a nude, but just that little bit more interesting! I've worn it for about three weeks straight! (sorry, not sorry)
I picked this one up because I had heard several other bloggers raving about it, and I have to say, it lived up to the hype! My only issue is that the lightest color offered is still a tiny bit too dark for me #palegirlprobs
Any new products you've been loving this month? Let me know in the comments below!
New month, new Birchbox! This month was probably my favorite in terms of the products I received! I've had a chance to test out all of them a bit and I wish I could buy full sizes of just about all of them! 1. Beauty Protector Protect and Detangler This pretty red bottle claims to be a detangler, heat protector, leave-in conditioner, shine spray, and color protector, all while being weightless and non-greasy. If so, this bottle could be my holy grail. After using it on dry hair before using a flat-iron, it definitely helps frizz, has more shine and doesn't add any weight or grease, but we'll see about its other claims with time. So far, it's a winner! 2. COOLA Organic Makeup Setting Spray COOLA has a lot of great products (especially for the summer months!) I've never tried their makeup setting spray, but it seems to be a fairly decent one. It doesn't hold a candle to the Urban Decay version, but if you're more environmentally conscious, this one is a great option! 3. Harvey Prince Hello Perfume I am, admittedly, a perfume sample hoarder. I love keeping them in my bag for a quick refresher (and I have about 13 extras in a box...). At first whiff, this one smelled like an old Lemongrass body lotion I had from Bath and Body works in middle school, but after a bit I picked up on the light citrus notes and really liked it! I'm not sure I would purchase the full-size, but it's a lovely light scent if you're not into heavy perfumes. 4. LAQA & Co. Charm School Kit - Humble Brag By far my favorite thing in the box! I expected it to be a very sheer lip balm, but it's actually VERY pigmented and oh so gorgeous! It looks gorgeous on both my lips and cheeks. I am absolutely buying the set of three, which comes with this bright pink, a cherry red, and a light peach. LOVE! I've only very recently gotten into hand creams, and this so far, is my favorite. I liked the Harvey Prince version, but the Supergoop is a bit more hydrating, absorbs quicker, and has a lighter scent.Read More
