Good morning, lovelies! Long-time-no-see! I've been swamped between homework and work these past two weeks, but I should be back to my normal blogging schedule soon. However, I did manage to pop down to Brooklyn Heights during a crisp foggy morning, and after shooting with David, hung out for a bit and sipped coffee while reading and people-watching, with a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline (aka my ideal morning).Read More
NYC temperatures are still hovering in the upper 60's, lower 70's range, so it's not quite cold enough for fall clothing, but not quite warm enough to pull off the summer favorites either. For this weird in-between weather, I went with a classic white button down and relaxed denim, and made it a little more fall by adding on a pair of olive chelsea rain-boots and a burgundy neck scarf tied in a wilderness knot (for those of you who "speak J.Crew" this will make perfect sense)
Burgundy and Olive are going to be two huge colors for this coming fall, and I'm excited to play them up together with neutrals like camel and navy, to part from the typical boring black (So non-New-Yorker of me). And as if I haven't pounded the idea of neck-scaves into you enough lately, I'm crazy excited to build my collection and wear them all. the. time.
And of course I have to top that off with a few accessories. Going off the burgundy trend, I carried this adorable micro bag from the WhoWhatWear x Target collection (which is only $30!!) After that, I added on a few small pieces of jewelry from this month's Rocksbox (see the post with a code for a free box HERE) I threw on these delicate Kendra Scott Kimmel threader earrings and a pave ring by Sophie Harper
Good morning lovelies! For anyone who doesn't know, I am an intern at a luxury, salon-style store called Suite 1521. This week we had the Jonathan Simkhai Spring 2016 and Fall 2016 collections in, and I couldn't resist trying on a few things, they're just stunning!
The first look was a separate shredded linen crop top and midi skirt. It was honestly one of the most comfortable things I've ever worn, and so chic! I'm in love with the crop top and midi skirt trend. So chic and easy!
The second (and my favorite) is this red scalloped crop top and white culottes. THESE CULOTTES. I've been a little weary of trying on culottes, but they are amazing. These fit like a glove, and were so soft and flattering, I would almost consider dropping the $375 to buy them! Kidding, but I'll definitely be hitting up Zara for some look-alikes.
Look for Less
For a comfortable fall outfit, there's nothing better than cozy tights and a loose dress. You look put together, but with minimal effort! I love this shift shirtdress from Lou & Grey (similar), and paired with comfy black flats, it's definitely a go-to in my closet!
I love this gold metal hair elastic, because it makes you look like you MEANT to do a ponytail, and not that you we're just too lazy to style your hair that day. Plus, adding a little pop of color with orangy-red nails and lips keeps it from being too boring!Read More
Today was a bit on the chilly side (it's about time!!) so I decided to layer two of my favorite pieces, this blue pinstripe button down from J.Crew Factory, with this blue/grey sweater (similar) from LOFT!
I added a little sparkle with this crystal statement necklace, also from J.Crew Factory and then paired that with J.Crew pixie pants, my brown leather jacket, and brown leather ankle boots (similar)! Topping everything off is my forever-favorite lipstick, Clinique's Color Pop Lipstick in Cola Pop!Read More
