Good morning, lovelies! Long-time-no-see! I've been swamped between homework and work these past two weeks, but I should be back to my normal blogging schedule soon. However, I did manage to pop down to Brooklyn Heights during a crisp foggy morning, and after shooting with David, hung out for a bit and sipped coffee while reading and people-watching, with a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline (aka my ideal morning).Read More
NYC temperatures are still hovering in the upper 60's, lower 70's range, so it's not quite cold enough for fall clothing, but not quite warm enough to pull off the summer favorites either. For this weird in-between weather, I went with a classic white button down and relaxed denim, and made it a little more fall by adding on a pair of olive chelsea rain-boots and a burgundy neck scarf tied in a wilderness knot (for those of you who "speak J.Crew" this will make perfect sense)
Burgundy and Olive are going to be two huge colors for this coming fall, and I'm excited to play them up together with neutrals like camel and navy, to part from the typical boring black (So non-New-Yorker of me). And as if I haven't pounded the idea of neck-scaves into you enough lately, I'm crazy excited to build my collection and wear them all. the. time.
And of course I have to top that off with a few accessories. Going off the burgundy trend, I carried this adorable micro bag from the WhoWhatWear x Target collection (which is only $30!!) After that, I added on a few small pieces of jewelry from this month's Rocksbox (see the post with a code for a free box HERE) I threw on these delicate Kendra Scott Kimmel threader earrings and a pave ring by Sophie Harper
Nordstrom has always been one of my favorite retailers. Great products, beautiful stores, and amazing customer service, not to mention the Anniversary Sale every year! It's not some picked-through sale either. Everything is new-arrivals for the fall season at discounted prices from July 22 - August 7th, but if you have a Nordstrom card, you get early access to the sale starting today!! If you don't have a card, don't fret, you can still view the sale and plan your shopping bag ahead of time! Below I listed my top picks for the sale! Click any of the images to go to the sale! Happy Shopping!Read More
Good morning lovelies! For anyone who doesn't know, I am an intern at a luxury, salon-style store called Suite 1521. This week we had the Jonathan Simkhai Spring 2016 and Fall 2016 collections in, and I couldn't resist trying on a few things, they're just stunning!
The first look was a separate shredded linen crop top and midi skirt. It was honestly one of the most comfortable things I've ever worn, and so chic! I'm in love with the crop top and midi skirt trend. So chic and easy!
The second (and my favorite) is this red scalloped crop top and white culottes. THESE CULOTTES. I've been a little weary of trying on culottes, but they are amazing. These fit like a glove, and were so soft and flattering, I would almost consider dropping the $375 to buy them! Kidding, but I'll definitely be hitting up Zara for some look-alikes.
Look for Less
For a comfortable fall outfit, there's nothing better than cozy tights and a loose dress. You look put together, but with minimal effort! I love this shift shirtdress from Lou & Grey (similar), and paired with comfy black flats, it's definitely a go-to in my closet!
I love this gold metal hair elastic, because it makes you look like you MEANT to do a ponytail, and not that you we're just too lazy to style your hair that day. Plus, adding a little pop of color with orangy-red nails and lips keeps it from being too boring!Read More
high of 70 degrees in November?! I'll take it!! I got to take this palm-leaf romper out for one last spin before the winter chill sets in, and Julia and I made a new friend in the process! This adorable little miniature schnauzer, named Soapy, ran up to us during pictures and did not want to leave! Plus, the trees in Chelsea look gorgeous right now, I'll be so sad to see them go!
Unfortunately, this romper from LOFT isn't available anymore, but I found so many cute one's that would look amazing with tights and a jacket!
In an unusual twist of fate, I'm actually wearing denim!! No, not jeans, but a denim shirt counts, right? I needed to pull out this skirt (made by moi!) before bare-legs were gone for the year, and it looks so cute and casual with the top. Fall booties, and (my obsession) Clinique's Color Pop Lipstick in Cola Pop add to the autumn-vibes!Read More
I've always been a tucked-in-top kind of girl, but there is something so cozy about throwing a chunky knit over an outfit. For a chilly fall day, I grabbed a simple a-line skirt and cozy mustard knit sweater and paired it with fun floral tights! I've been living in these ankle boots lately, they're perfect for the transition into colder weather!Read More
New York weather has been maddening the past week; 45 degrees one day and 70 the next! Today it was a lovely 60 and the perfect temperature for a light sweater and riding boots! I love the emerald color of this green LOFT sweater! It adds the perfect pop of color to a fall/winter outfit!Read More
How to make it through a cold and rainy New York day: rain boots, pixie pants, and a cozy sweater. Oh, and don't forget Starbucks! Top off the outfit with a chic necklace, headband, and your favorite fall lip color (Berry and Burgundy have been in constant rotation) and you've got yourself a winneRead More
I've only recently started wearing pencil skirts, and I regret missing out on them for so long! They're comfortable and chic! (My favorite pair!) I paired this one from LUSH with a simple grey long sleeve, my DVF Micro Milo, and my favorite statement necklace from J.Crew. Flats kept it comfy and casual for brunch with my roomies Julia (Hey Jule) and Kayla (The Style Genre)!Read More
J.Crew never ceases to impress me. This Fall, they came out with this wool cape in tan and black (I still can't decide which one I want more!) Capes are perfect for the chilly fall and look chic thrown over a dress and tights or jeans and a blouse!
Hourglass has some of the most gorgeous face powders on the market, so when I saw all six of these flawless shades in one palette, I almost died! It's a limited edition palette though, so snatch one up before they're all gone!
A girl can never have too many black handbags, and this Rebecca Minkoff is the perfect size and structure to handle everyday on-the-go life! Whether it's running off to class, work, or just out to brunch with the girls, the M.A.B. tote is good to go!
I've raved about these more times than I can count. My current collection contains Poppy Pop, Punch Pop, and Cola Pop, and the next three on the list are Bare Pop, Fab Pop and Grape Pop. All of these lipsticks are extremely hydrating, stay on the lips like magic, and have vivid bold color that looks fantastic!
It's no secret that I love Kate Spade, and I live in black ballet flats, so these are a match made in heaven! Basic enough for everyday, but the leather bow and spade charm add a little fun!
