Best of SNY 2017

Holy cow, how did 2017 go so fast?? It's about to be 3 years that I've been doing this whole blog thing (what?!) and I've had a lot of posts from 2017 that I've particularly loved! But I widdled it down to just a few, so here are my 2017 favorites!

How did four months go by so fast? It seems like just yesterday I hopped off that plane into the 100+ degree Italian heat, and had no idea where I was, or what I was doing! But I'm currently a thousand feet high in the air flying back to the US, and let me tell you, it's the ultimate bittersweet. Leaving for Italy was hard, but leaving Italy is twice as hard.

Florence

I've had the amazing opportunity to travel Europe, and live in Florence for the past few months, and while I've been posting travel diaries about my experiences, I had a few people ask me if I would do more practical guides and tips for someone planning thier own trips to these cities! I'll be posting guides for each city over the next few months, but I thought the best one to kick it off was the one I know best, Florence!

Notting Hill

What a dream! I had the best time exploring London in general, but Notting Hill was by far the most picturesque area! As soon as we stumbled across this row of candy-colored townhouses, I ran straight for this bright pink one with a fuchsia door! (I mean come on, this is me turned into a house)

Holiday Dresses Under $100

The Holidays are almost here! And one of my favorite parts is of course picking out something special to wear on Christmas Eve, and to Christmas day dinner! It's one of the only days where pulling out a bright red (sometimes slightly over-the-top) dress can be deemed acceptable.

So to make your search for the prefect little number for Christmas easier, I've pulled some of the best dresses under $100 from different retailers, all in festive colors! Happy Holidays Everyone!

London

'Ello! I spent this past weekend in London, UK and had the best time brunching, visiting spots from Harry Potter and Sherlock homes, and seeing all the usual sights (London Eye, Westminster, Kensington, etc) with friends! In classic London style, it was a bit misty-rainy most of the time, but that didn't stop us from exploring this gorgeous city!

Vienna & Budapest

We planned this 6-day East-European adventure pretty early in the semester, so by the time it arrived, I was so excited I could barely contain myself! We flew to Vienna, Austria on Friday afternoon and then took a bus over to Budapest, Hungary early Monday morning, and finally left the beautiful city on Wednesday. This is so far my favorite trip I've been on, and I'm dying to go back to both countries!

Rome

Ciao from Roma! A few friends and I decided to spend a weekend exploring the ancient city, and it was one of my favorite trips so far! It got off to a bit of a bumpy start though...I had been sick all week, so Saturday night I decided to take benedryl and head to bed early, hoping I'd feel better the next day for out train at 8 AM......and then I woke up dazed and confused, at 9. oops! Well I raced to the station, and hopped on the next train to meet my friends, and it all worked out in the end!

3 Day Guide to New York City

I get messages all the time from people visiting New York, asking where to visit and places to eat. And after five years of living here, I definitely have a list of places, but to make it easier, I’ve decided to write out a 3-day trip plan for visiting NYC. I won't cover every single thing you could possibly do (because you'd need an entire month to do everything) but some of the best highlights are in here, as well as a few off-the-tourist-path spots. These are just suggestions, If you really want to visit somewhere, do it! It's your trip! But here's my suggested plan:

Barcelona

Ciao! I've had an amazing weekend relaxing at home in Florence, and finally had time to sift through all my photos from Barcelona! We spent two full days exploring the Catalan capital, and eating the most amazing food!! (Seafood is my weakness, and Barcelona has endless amounts!)

5 Trends for Fall 2017

Fall is finally upon us (even though Italy hasn't quite caught up...) and since I've been spending hours upon hours researching trends on fashion forecasting websites for my classes, I thought I would make a quick post with a few Fall/Winter trends that are predicted not only for '17, but even '18 & '19 (so you can purchase with confidence that these will be around for awhile)
