Trending Tuesday: Snakeskin

A lovvely instagram follower requested this particular trend for Trending Tuesday, and I’m so glad she did, because it’s such a fun one! Snakeskin is such an easy trend to incorporate into your wardrobe, but I would put a few rules on it for beginners so you don’t veer into tacky.

  1. Keep it to accessories. This trend looks best on bags and shoes, not a whole outfit

  2. Keep the tones cool. Go for a white-grey-black palette

  3. Let it be the focus. make the rest of your outfit simple, and let the snakeskin be the pop

NYFW SS19 Part 1

NYFW SS19 Part 1

It's been a wild few days! Between both working and attending NYFW shows, seeing tons of my blogger friends, and battling the ever-unpredictable NYC weather, I'm both exhausted and exhilarated! (and we're only halfway done!)

The first part of my recap will be what I've been up to, what I wore, etc! If you want to read about some of the shows, new trends, and shop the new trends now, scroll down to the second half of this post!

Why Bloggers Should Connect Rather Than Compete

Why Bloggers Should Connect Rather Than Compete

The blogging world is enormous. I'm talking MILLIONS of creators all over the internet trying to carve out thier own piece of creativity, and find success with it. And especially in the Fashion / Lifestyle / Beauty categories of blogging, competition can be fierce for followers, partnerships, and even stretches to who has the best designer handbag, or who is taking the most Instagram-able vacations...

Being An Introverted Blogger

Being An Introverted Blogger

Being a blogger and being an introvert are two things that don't really seem to go together. So why would someone introverted want (and love) being a blogger?

This is something I've thought a lot about lately. Personally, I'm a huge introvert, and I sometimes struggle with social anxiety. But a big part of being a blogger is attending events, networking, and connecting with other bloggers and brands.

PJ's to Work

The bitter cold that's still lingering in New York has made me want to wear nothing but giant sweaters and leggings everyday. But instead of dressing like a bum for work, I found the best dupe, wool pants that feel like pajamas, and look like a trendy trouser! For work, I usually pair them with a loafer to play on the masculine trend, but an off the shoulder sweater and silk scarf still keep it feminine.

5 Pieces for a Spring Refresh

5 Pieces for a Spring Refresh

Even though it's still thirty degrees in NYC, I'm still willing the weather to get warmer, and what better than to prep the closet for spring weather! I've been noticing a lot of trends popping up from watching runways, bloggers, and even just people around my office and school (who are all very fashionable considering I work at a luxury designer and go to fashion school). So here are a few pieces to add to your closet for spring!

Embarassing story time. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm extremely clumsy. One of my old roommates actually used to count how many times I tripped while we were out walking! Well, I was shooting this look with Laurel Creative on a cold morning after it had rained, and while we were shooting, I began to walk towards her, when of course, I slipped on a patch of ice and wiped-out on the concrete!! I ripped my jeans (fun fact: in the bottom photo, one leg is covering my ripped jeans and bleeding knee!) Even better, when we finally got into a bathroom so I could change outfits, neither of us had bandaids to cover the bleeding, so I had to stick a panty-liner to my knee and keep shooting!

But hey, all's well that ends well, right? I got a ton of cute photos (and in my glasses for the first time!) and I think this was my favorite look from the shoot! It's quirky and fun, and who wouldn't want to rock a furry blue tee over a mixed-stripe button down?? Throw these velvet booties in the mix and you're golden!

Ciao,

Audra
